Tyson serves as Managing Director of Origination and M&A at TPH, and has 19  years of experience in the energy sector.​

Before joining TPH in 2024, Tyson was Senior Director of Mergers & Acquisition team at NextEra Energy Resources. In this role, he was responsible for originating renewable-energy investment opportunities, including solar, energy storage, onsite gas generation, hydrogen, fuel cells, and other emerging technologies. ​

Tyson initially joined NextEra Energy Resources in 2014 as a greenfield originator of solar and storage projects for the Western U.S. region. As part of NextEra’s Mergers & Acquisition team, he led $1.2B in transactions of single assets and portfolios. ​

Prior to NextEra Energy Resources, Tyson held leadership positions at RGS Energy and Sunetric, including Vice President of Project Development and Commercial Division Founder and General Manager. ​

Previously, he was an equity options floor trader for 10 years on the Pacific Stock Exchange in San Francisco. ​

Tyson graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a B.A. in Business Economics.  ​
